The International Trade Center (ITC) celebrated the inauguration of its new Board of Directors for 2025-2027 with a ceremony attended by Houston Mayor John Whitmire and other distinguished guests. The event marked a significant step forward for the ITC as it continues to grow as a financial hub, supporting small businesses, fostering global partnerships, and bringing more opportunity to the International District.
The day began with a whirlwind tour led by Mr. Wea Lee, showcasing the Space AI Education Center and the future International Financial Tower to Mayor Whitmire. These projects highlight the ITC’s commitment to innovation and international collaboration.
The inauguration ceremony itself was a momentous occasion, with Judge Robert Eckles and ITC Co-Chair Jim Noteware assisting in the swearing-in of the new board members. The presence of Mayor Whitmire underscored the importance of international trade and cultural exchange to the city and region.
“We are honored to have so many distinguished guests with us today,” said Mr. Lee during his welcome and opening remarks. “The ITC plays a vital role in fostering connections between Houston and the world, and I am excited to see the contributions this new board will make over the next two years.”
The agenda included insightful presentations from Danny Nguyen on the SNG International Financial Tower and the Houston International Community Museum (HICoM), exemplifying the spirit of collaboration and innovation that drives the ITC. Closing remarks were delivered by James Liu of AI Space Education, Mark Lester from the Houston International Trade Park, and Tina Pei from the 500 Acres Industrial Zone, providing valuable perspectives on the future of international trade and development.
The ITC looks forward to a productive term with its new Board of Directors, continuing its mission to promote international business and cultural exchange in the community.
